Camp FREE-Gan Israel Now In It’s 34th Session..A Major Success

BROOKLYN, NY – Wednesday, August 9, 2006

Camp FREE-Gan Israel, a division of Friends of Refugees of Eastern Europe, now in its’ 34th session is seeing major results this summer. The camp was established at the directive of the Lubavitcher Rebbe in the summer of 1972, in order to serve the needs of America’s Russian-Jewish immigrant children, residing in the Greater New York area.

The camp is one of a series of activities for children carried out by FREE’s Youth Division throughout the year; which include weekly Shabbatons, After School Program, trips and other exciting activities. This year the administration and staff anticipate that a substantial number of these children, who usually attend public schools, will now continue their studies during the year at FREE’s Yeshiva-Ohel-Dovid Elementary and High School.
